Product Description:

A manifold absolute pressure sensor is used to measure the intake manifold pressure. It's usually located near or on the throttle body, and provides intake manifold pressure readings to the Engine Control Unit (ECU). With help of this data, the ECU will calculate air density, air-fuel ratio, engine load, pulse width for fuel injection and adjust ignition timing.

A MAP sensor can also be used to identify any performance issues related to throttle, spot vacuum leakage in the inlet manifold, convert MAP signal into air mass data with help from engine speed and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor data, detect functioning of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve as back-up when Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor is not available.

Common causes of MAP sensor failure include: contaminated, clogged, electronics damaged due to intense engine heat and vibration damage in the engine.
