Flex Fuel Sensor - -40℃~+125℃ Storage Temperature for B2B Applications
The FFS is specially designed to be used in North American, South American, and Southeast Asian countries, where gasoline fuel blended with ethanol is used for operating vehicles. It is a component of the Fuel Storage and Handling Subsystem and capable of detecting and reporting the exact percentage of total ethanol present in the fuel. This feature is of great importance since it helps to adjust engine parameters to prevent potential damages associated with wrong ethanol content.
The sensor should be installed at any location of a chassis, such as fuel tank, engine mounting, or engine compartment as long as the environmental temperature is within the range -40°C and +125°C. It is also supposed to be mounted on the low pressure side of the fuel line, after the filter to prevent any larger particles from blocking the sensor. If the sensor is installed in the return line, one should take into account possibility of line draining when the vehicle is turned off, which will delay the process of generating correct signal output till the fuel reaches the sensor. According to customers' experiences, it is better to install the sensor in a horizontal position, with slight angle to avoid air entrapment.
