Product Description:

Introduction: The FFS (Fuel Flow Sensor) is designed for countries in North America, South America and Southeast Asia, where a blend of gasoline and ethanol is used for vehicular operation. It is a part of the Fuel Storage and Handling Subsystem and it can determine and report the percentage of ethanol in the fuel. The ethanol concentration is regularly updated in the ECU, to adjust engine parameters to utilise the new fuel and prevent potential harm to the engine and its components.

Mechanical Mounting Requirements: The FFS has to be mounted in any location on the chassis from fuel tank to engine compartment, where the environmental temperature should not surpass +125°C or fall below -40°C. The sensor needs to be mounted in the low-pressure side of the fuel line, after the fuel filter (so that larger particles can be filtered out). If a customer mounts the sensor in the return fuel line, it must be noted that it would take time for the correct signal to be output due to draining of the line when the vehicle is shut off. Customers should make sure to securely attach the sensor and piping and take into account the available free space in order to mount it. To prevent entrapped air in the pipe, the horizontal installation might need to be done with a slight angle.
