Introduction
The FFS (Fuel Float Sensor) is designed to work in countries that use a combination of gasoline and ethanol as fuel for vehicles. It is a part of the Fuel Storage and Handling Subsystem. The main purpose of the FFS is to monitor and report the total ethanol content of fuel.
The ethanol content should be dynamically updated in the Electronic Control Unit to allow the engine parameters to adjust to the new fuel. This precaution will be taken to avoid any potential damage to the engine and its components due to incorrect ethanol input.
Mechanical Mounting Requirements
If sensor is directly mounted under vehicle, it is recommend installing sensor with connector
facing toward rear of vehicle or if connector is facing front of vehicle it is recommend protecting the
connector from debris. 2.9 Keep the factory installed fuel tube end caps on until assembly of sensor to vehicle to avoid
contamination of the fuel.
