Product Description:

A Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor is an important component of a vehicle's engine management system. It is usually located in the inlet manifold, either next to or on the throttle body. The MAP sensor's job is to measure the intake manifold pressure, and supply such data to the Engine Control Unit (ECU).

The ECU then uses the MAP sensor readings to calculate air density, and determine the air-fuel mixture for the combustion process. Other uses of the MAP sensor include diagnosing throttle performance issues, checking for a vacuum leak in the intake manifold, and converting the MAP sensor signal into air mass data with the help of engine speed and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor data. The MAP sensor is also used to test if the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve is working properly, either in vehicles with a Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor or as a backup measure.

The failure of a Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor may be attributed to a variety of causes such as contamination, clogging, vibration damage, and electronic malfunction due to intense engine heat. The symptoms of a malfunctioning Pressure Sensor may include engine not starting or starting poorly, detonation or misfire, excessive fuel consumption, as well as a decrease in engine power. The car's Check Engine Light may also be triggered by a faulty Pressure Sensor.

FAQ:

Q1: What is Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor?

A1: Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor is an electronic device that measures absolute air pressure in an internal combustion engine, thereby allowing the engine control unit (ECU) to determine the air density and the engine load. It is certified to ISO9001 standards.

Q2: What are the benefits of using an Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor?

A2: Oetex Automotive MAP Sensors can improve fuel economy, reduce emissions, and improve engine performance. They also help to reduce the risk of engine damage due to incorrect air/fuel ratio.

Q3: How do I install an Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor?

A3: Installing an Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor is relatively straightforward. You need to locate the MAP sensor port on your engine, disconnect the existing MAP sensor, connect the Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor to the port, and secure the sensor in place.

Q4: How do I know if my Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor is working correctly?

A4: You can check the performance of your Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor by monitoring the air/fuel ratio and the engine performance. If the air/fuel ratio is inaccurate or the engine performance is affected, the MAP sensor may need to be replaced.

Q5: How often should I replace my Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor?

A5: The Oetex Automotive MAP Sensor should be replaced every 30,000 to 40,000 miles or as recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. If the sensor is not replaced at regular intervals, it may lead to inaccurate readings and engine damage.
